The Central government has approved the appointment of three lawyers as judges of the Patna High Court.

The appointed lawyers are:

1. Alok Kumar Sinha
2. Sourendra Pandey
3. Soni Shrivastava

In February, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended five advocates for elevation. However, the Central government has cleared only three names, while the appointment of Ritesh Kumar and Ansul @ Anshul Raj remains pending.

The Patna High Court, with a sanctioned strength of 53 judges, is currently functioning with 34 judges.
