The Supreme Court recently granted anticipatory bail to a person implicated in a case involving allegations of poisoning, under the condition that he ceases any involvement with pan masala containing tobacco or gutka

A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti has also made permanent a previous order granting interim pre-arrest bail to the accused individual.

The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Center to respond to a plea seeking that the quantum of assistance given to disabled persons should be 25 per cent more than the assistance given to others under similar social welfare schemes. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud issued notice to the Center seeking its response on the petition filed by Delhi-based organization 'Bhumika Trust' and posted the matter for hearing after four weeks.

Supreme Court extended the interim bail awarded to M Sivasankar, the former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala, in connection with the LIFE Mission corruption case, granting an additional two months of relief.

Earlier, Sivasankar was initially granted a two-month interim bail on medical grounds starting from August 2nd. He had approached the Supreme Court seeking bail in a money laundering case related to the LIFE Mission corruption case, citing health issues as the basis for his request. It's worth noting that the LIFE (Livelihood, Inclusion, and Financial Empowerment) Mission project is an initiative by the Kerala Government aimed at providing housing solutions for the homeless population.

Supreme Court has ruled that a State is not obligated to fill all vacancies if the rules governing the process do not explicitly require it to do so. Additionally, the court emphasized that merely qualifying the selection process does not grant a candidate an indefeasible right to be appointed to a position.
 

The Supreme Court of India has Constitued 7 judges Constitutional Bench to hear the case wherein the Court has to decide the Criminality of Member of Parliament liable for accepting bribes in exchange for actions or inactions within the legislative chamber.

Recently, the Supreme Court said that it seems difficult to take an early decision on the disqualification petition of Shiv Sena MLAs in Maharashtra. Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar will announce within two-three days how he will proceed with the hearing on this petition.

 Supreme Court said that it will hear the petitions related to Gyanvapi Masjid-Kashi Vishwanath Temple after two weeks.

The Supreme Court said that it will first hear the appeal of the Anjuman Arrangements Mosque Committee. Let us tell you that the Anjuman Arrangements Mosque Committee has questioned the sustainability of the case filed in the lower court by Hindus demanding the right to worship inside the mosque.

The Supreme Court has started allowing deaf and dumb lawyers to translate the case proceedings through sign language. The result was that Sara Sunny fought her first case with the help of a sign language interpreter. At the same time, the court has also tried to give a message that there is no need to say everything out loud in the court.

The bench of Justice Justice BR Gavai and Justice Prakash Kumar Mishra said that judgment of the Supreme Court wherein it has been held that all the Stay Orders would be vacated after a period of 6 months requires a revisit.

Attorney General of India R. Venkataramani stated in the court that it requires re-consideration, because this is creating a lot of problems. The AG agreed with Court and said "I will look into it. As far as criminal matters are concerned, we need to collect data on how it really works".

The Supreme Court has directed the Indian Army and Air Force to pay compensation of Rs 1.54 crore to a former Air Force officer for transfusion of HIV-infected blood in 2002. Due to this grave medical lapse, the then Air Force officer, who was involved in Operation Parakram in Jammu and Kashmir against the attack on Parliament House in 2001, became afflicted with AIDS after being transfused with a unit of deadly HIV-infected blood in the military hospital. And he also lost his Air Force job.

Bench compring Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi of Supreme Court agrees to hear petition against the anti-Sanatan Dharma statements of Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, A Raja and other party leaders. The Supreme Court has accepted another petition against all these people for hearing.

Recently, the Supreme Court recently came across a petition in which a fake document was submitted as an order passed by the Supreme Court itself. Thereafter, the division bench of the Supreme Court comprising, Justices Abhay S Oka and Pankaj Mithal ordered criminal investigation.
