Supreme Court's special deal with Youtube

The bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala revealed during the hearing of a case that it is in talks with youtube for a special arrangement for live streaming of the court hearings.

The Court said on Monday that it has started action and disposed of a petition by former RSS member KN Govindacharya seeking direction for special arrangements with youtube to safeguard the copyrights of its live-streamed proceedings in accordance with the judgment of 2018. 

The bench said that it has already started working and directed the petitioner to give suggestions.

While Advocate Virag Gupta appeared for the petitioner, Advocate Devashish Bharuka appeared for the Supreme Court and ASG Aishwarya Bhati appeared for the Central Government.
