Supreme Court rejects interim bail granted by High Court to SP leaders

The Supreme Court canceled the interim bail granted by the High Court to SP leaders accused in the case of robbery, murderous attack and molestation in Etah district of UP. This is a big blow to SP leaders. The accused were not arrested due to interim bail.

Case Brief -

Back in June 2021, a woman from Jasrathpur police station area was going to Aliganj to take medicines. Near village Akbarpur Kot, Aliganj's former SP MLA Rameshwar Singh Yadav's brother Ramnath Yadav, former District Panchayat President Jugendra Singh Yadav and son Pushpendra Yadav, former MLA's son Pramod Yadav, Ramnath's son Vikrant Yadav, Ramkhiladi's son Vinod Yadav reached and the woman's son was fired upon and beaten.

According to the FIR, the young man was released after dying. Tore the woman's clothes and looted the money.

This case was registered on 18 September 2021. The former MLA was not named in this case. The former MLA and his brother, the former District Panchayat President, are in jail in land grabbing and gangster cases. Vinod Yadav had already been sent to jail in this case and is out on bail. Apart from this, Ramnath, Pushpendra, Vikrant and Pramod Yadav had obtained interim bail from Allahabad High Court, regarding which the administration filed a writ in the Supreme Court.

The interim bail granted by the High Court was canceled by the Supreme Court on 18 September 2023. Now there is no other option except surrender in court or arrest. Let us tell you that many serious cases like illegal occupation of land, assault, rape etc. are registered against SP leaders.

Inspector Aliganj Prempal Singh said that the Supreme Court has canceled the interim bail of four accused, including the sons and brothers of SP leaders.
