Shri Lekh Raj Mehta was son of Late Shri Gaj Raj Mehta was born on 4th June, 1921 in District Jalore, in Jodhpur. He is originally from Lambia, a village as situated in Pali District.
Shri Lekh Raj Mehta did his Bachelors of law from Benaras Hindu University in 1942 and then went on for doing his masters in law from Lucknow University in 1945.
He has a tremendously rich experience of more than 80 years and just before Covid had been actively participating in Court proceedings and regularly advising his valued clients. During the days of pandemic, he also appeared in the Court through Video conferencing and is always keen to learn new things. He has been involved in numerous legal matters involving complex legal issues; he has been instrumental in various landmark judgments of this country which have been widely reported in law journals.
He has appeared for various Companies, Institutions, Government departments, Politicians, Religious trusts and erstwhile rulers etc. He has done a lot of pro bono work and given free legal advices to huge section of the society. He keenly follows and practices Jainism while respecting all the other religious beliefs. He starts his day by visiting Temple and doing pooja, which he has been doing invariably since last 60 years.
He has delivered numerous lectures on subjects of law and religion in various parts of country and also in Russia and England. He has participated in various legal seminars and have arranged moot court competitions and law debates for law students within the Country. He has been awarded and recognized with number of awards and accolades. He was also awarded with highest recognition known as “Hathi Sropav” by Jodhpur Royal family and was conferred with Citizens Honour award by Jodhpur Administration, Pride of Marwar by Times of India.
He started the law firm called Mehta Chambers as a family run traditional law office in the year 1945 in Jodhpur. The said law practice was taken over by his son Mr Rajendra Mehta who was a Chartered Accountant turned Lawyer, a Gold medalist in law.
