Senior Advocate Shashi Kiran Shetty appointed as Advocate General of Karnataka

Senior advocate Shashi Kiran Shetty has been appointed the new Advocate General of Karnataka.

The AG confirmed the development: "First of all I would like to thank the government for posing trust in me."

An alumnus of the National Law School of India University, he is the son of former Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty, with over 23 years of experience handling matters before various courts across the country.

Shashi Kiran has taken on various high-profile cases throughout his career, representing numerous political leaders, educational institutions, multinational corporations, and other litigants. He has been involved in election petitions, issues pertaining to admissions and affiliations of deemed universities, and private medical and engineering colleges, and has argued before both the High Court and the Supreme Court.

The key areas of his practice are Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Arbitration Law, Property Rights, Family Law, Debt Recovery, Environmental Laws and Banking Laws, among others.
