SCBA organizes blood donation camp in commemoration of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary

In a laudable demonstration of social responsibility, the Supreme Court Bar Association organized a blood donation camp on Friday within the premises of the Supreme Court. The occasion was arranged to commemorate Young Advocates' Day, coinciding with the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, a renowned Indian philosopher and spiritual leader.

The event witnessed the presence of eminent judges. Apart from the CJI D Y Chandrachud, other attendees at the event included Justice Hima Kohli, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, Justice PS Narshima, Justice Aniruddha Bose, Justice Rajesh Bindal, and Justice KV Viswanathan.

CJI Chandrachud commended the Bar Association and its members for their proactive engagement in initiatives that contribute to the betterment of society. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the significance of the blood donation camp as a testament to the attention lawyers pay to societal needs. The CJI also expressed appreciation for the initiative, characterizing it as a commendable effort to pay homage to Swami Vivekananda, whose teachings emphasized the importance of conscious living and continual self-improvement for the benefit of others.

Swami Vivekananda, born on January 12, 1863, remains an influential spiritual guru and social reformer. The blood donation camp, held on this significant day, was not only a tribute to Swami Vivekananda but also a concrete manifestation of the legal community's commitment to societal welfare. The CJI acknowledged the efforts of the Bar Association in organizing the camp, emphasizing the caring nature of lawyers toward the broader community.

During his address, the Chief Justice recalled Swami Vivekananda's teachings, urging everyone to remain conscious of their broader objectives in life. The call for constant improvement for the benefit of others resonated with the spirit of the blood donation camp, where members of the legal community actively participated in contributing to a noble cause.

Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah also endorsed the blood donation camp as a positive initiative, encouraging people to donate blood for the convenience of society. The presence of judges, legal professionals, and the Chief Justice of India at the event underscored the collective commitment of the legal fraternity to serve the community beyond their professional duties.
