In a significant move, the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, has put forth recommendations for the appointment of Permanent Judges in three different High Courts across the country.
The first recommendation involves the elevation of Smt. Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen, currently serving as an Additional Judge, to the position of a permanent Judge in the High Court of Kerala.

In another noteworthy recommendation, Shri. Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, an Additional Judge, has been proposed for appointment as a permanent Judge in the High Court of Jharkhand.
Shri. Arun Kumar Rai, a Judicial Officer, has also been recommended for appointment as a Judge of the Jharkhand High Court.

Moving to the Calcutta High Court, the Supreme Court Collegium has suggested the names of three Additional Judges for appointment as Permanent Judges. The recommended candidates include Ms. Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul), Shri. Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury, and Ms. Justice Lapita Banerji.
Furthermore, the Collegium has recommended two Additional Judges Ms. Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay and Ms. Justice Rai Chattopadhyay for permanent appointments and an additional Judge Shri. Justice Subhendu Samanta for a fresh term of one year in the High Court at Calcutta. These recommendations underscore the Collegium's meticulous consideration of candidates to ensure the continued efficiency and effectiveness of the judiciary.
