Plea filed in Supreme Court seeking action against the calls for boycott of Muslims

Today, plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking action against the several groups for making calls made for the boycott Muslims in the Country following the violence in Nuh.

Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, mentioned the plea before the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. 

Adv. Kapil Sibal mentioned instances where individuals have been urged to label those who employ people from a specific community as 'gaddars' (traitors).

"Some decisions are taken that if a community is employed then the employer will be called as a Gaddar. We will file an urgency petition," said Sibbal

On 31th July, the violence broke out in Nuh district of Haryana after a mob attacked a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession following rumours that cow vigilante Monu Manesar would be participating in the march.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad announced that they would hold protests over the violence in the NCR. The Supreme Court was approached for a stay.

Last week, the Court declined to stay the protests slated to be held later that day.

However, the Court had ordered the State government and the Delhi police to ensure that no hate speech or violence takes place during the rallies.
