A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding allegations of a honey-trap scandal in Karnataka, purportedly involving a senior minister and 48 others, including legislators, politicians, and judges.
The matter was mentioned before Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, who stated that the case would be listed for hearing tomorrow.
The controversy stems from claims made by Karnataka’s Minister for Cooperation, KN Rajanna, during an assembly session on March 20. Rajanna alleged that he was targeted in a honeytrap attempt by a gang that had similarly targeted 47 others, cutting across party lines, including members of the judiciary.
The revelation has sparked a political uproar, with demands for an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, protests over the issue in the state assembly led to the suspension of 18 BJP MLAs.
