PIL for “Rajasthan State Men’s Commission” filed in Raj. High Court

A PIL has been filed in the Rajasthan High Court to set up “A Commission for Men” in the state by the name “Rajasthan State Men’s Commission”. The High Court division bench will hear the matter after the summer vacation. In the PIL filed on behalf of the applicant Richa Saini, it has been said that many provisions have been made for the welfare of women in the constitution. At the same time, many laws were also made to raise their social standard of living and social security. There is no separate law for men. It is said in PIL that many women are misusing the Domestic violence law, but there is no one to listen to the victimized men. There are many cases where women enter into a consensual relationship and later use rape to blackmail the man and make allegations. In such cases, the man has to prove that he has not committed the rape.

Citing Crime Records Bureau data, Advocate Gagan Sharma has contended in the petition that a large proportion of men's suicides is also the harassment of women. Women are harassing men by using the law as a weapon. Despite this, the men do not have any platform where they can express their grievances. That's why a men's commission should be constituted in the state.

Speaking to “The Law Advice” Advocate Gagan Sharma of Rajasthan High Court said that false complaints have been filed by women in gender-biased laws made explicitly for women and the data shows that the same is immensely increasing.

The Crime Records Bureau data shows that only 54.5% of the FIRs get converted into Charge-sheets from 2019 to 2021. In Rajasthan in the year 2021 out of 12,516 cases registered by women again men only 6201 cases ended in charge-sheet rest of them were found to be false.

The Data further shows that 5066 accused were not found guilty or were acquitted.

The PIL also says that as per the Data 33.2% of suicide in the year 2019 to 2021 were committed by men due to family problems. The data shows that during this period 1,09,749 married persons committed suicide out of which 81063 are men which is 73% of total suicide.
