Punjab and Haryana HC Bar boycotts court of Justice Anil Kshetarpal

The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has taken a significant step by passing a resolution to boycott the court of Justice Anil Kshetarpal. The resolution comes in response to allegations of misbehavior made by Advocate Herbans Lal Sharma, a member of the Association.

The executive committee of the Bar Association convened to discuss the complaint lodged by Advocate Sharma against Justice Kshetarpal. After careful consideration, the committee decided to boycott Justice Kshetarpal's court proceedings with immediate effect.

Advocate Sharma's complaint alleges that Justice Kshetarpal insulted and misbehaved with him during court proceedings. This incident seems to be the catalyst for the Association's action against the judge. It is worth noting that this is not the first complaint the Association has received against Justice Kshetarpal, as they have previously held discussions with him regarding similar issues.

The recent events, including the imposition of a hefty Rs 5 lakh fine during court proceedings and the refusal to allow a senior lawyer to continue his argument, have further fueled the discontent among the lawyers. As a form of protest, some lawyers even staged a sit-in demonstration outside the premises of the high court.

The Bar Association's objective in taking these steps is to foster a professional and respectful environment within the legal community. By boycotting Justice Kshetarpal's court, they aim to address the alleged misbehavior and seek redress for the grievances expressed by their members.

It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether any further actions or investigations will be undertaken to address the allegations against Justice Anil Kshetarpal.
