Manish Sisodia Bail | Supreme Court issues notice to CBI on plea seeking Bail

Today, the Supreme Court issued notice to the CBI on the petitions filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia seeking bail in the cases registered by the CBI and ED in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Bela M Trivedi and Ujjal Bhuyan also issued notice on the application filed by Sisodia seeking interim bail to allow him to meet his wife who is suffering from illness.

The next hearing will took place on July 28.

Sisodia is in custody since February 26 of this year.

On July 10, a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud had agreed to hear the pleas of the former Delhi deputy chief minister on July 14.

Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, representing Sisodia, had urged the top court to take them up for hearing as the senior AAP leader's wife was seriously ill and hospitalised.

Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28.
