Lower Court employees in Rajasthan calls off 45 days long strike

The Judicial employees' association has called for a strike throughout Rajasthan in the form of mass leave on 15th November 2022 which has been called off with the intervention of the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Pankaj Mittal

The President of the Association of Rajasthan Judicial Employees Union Surendra Narayan Joshi and Co-ordinator Natthusingh Tanwar, General Secretary Satbir Singh issued a statement calling off the strike.

It has been stated in the statement that all the demands have been met after the meeting took place with the Chief Justice of Rajasthan in the presence of Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and Police Commissioner Anand Srivastav on 14.12.2022 when the delegation of the employees met the CJR.

It has been agreed that FIR has been lodged against the judicial officer and there would be a fair investigation in the matter.

The issue arose when Subhash Nehra an employee, who was working at the judge's Kamla Nehru Nagar residence on November 10, allegedly set himself ablaze on the roof by pouring inflammable fluid on himself. He died in the hospital while undergoing treatment. 

The case was registered on 11th December, 2022 against KS Chalana, a judge in the NDPS Court in Jaipur, in connection with the death of Subhash Mehra.

The work at the lower court has come to a halt after the employees called for a strike in the form of Mass Leave. The work would resume in Rajasthan Sub-ordinate Judiciary from 15.12.2022.
