Recently, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Tashi Rabstan, administered the oath of office to Justices Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Rajesh Sekhri, and Mohammad Yousuf Wani as Permanent Judges of the High Court.

The oath-taking ceremony took place in the Chief Justice's Courtroom.

Registrar General Shahzad Azeem conducted the proceedings of the oath-taking ceremony, during which he read out the notification from the Government of India, Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division).

Further, he presented the Warrants of Appointment issued by the President of India and the Letter of Authorization from the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, empowering the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to administer the oath of office to Justices Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Rajesh Sekhri, and Mohammad Yousuf Wani.

At the oath-taking ceremony in Jammu, Justices Sanjeev Kumar, Sindhu Sharma, Vinod Chatterji Koul, Sanjay Dhar, Puneet Gupta, and Mohammad Akram Chowdhary were present.

Meanwhile, Justices Atul Sreedharan, Rajnesh Oswal, Javed Iqbal Wani, Rahul Bharti, and Moksha Khajuria Kazmi joined the proceedings online from Srinagar.

The ceremony was also graced by former Judges of the High Court, the Chief Secretary of the UT of J&K, the Deputy Solicitor General of India (Jammu), the Secretary to the Government (Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs), a Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal, the Principal District Judge (Jammu), the Inspector General of Police, the President of the J&K High Court Bar Association (Jammu), along with members of the Bar, senior advocates, officers from the civil and police administration, and officers and staff of the Registry.

Notably, the Central Government had officially notified the appointment of Justices Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Rajesh Sekhri, and Mohammad Yousuf Wani as Permanent Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This notification was issued following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium dated March 5, 2025.
