Kashi Vishwanath | High Court rejected petition for setting up donation box

Allahabad High Court has rejected the petition demanding the right to install donation box and worship in the Navgraha Shivlinga temple located in Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.

This order has been given by the division bench of Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Justice Prashant Kumar on the petition of Jitendra Giri and others.

Advocate Vineet Sankalp of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Temple Trust said that during the construction of the corridor, some part of the temple of petitioner Jitendra Giri was taken. A sale deed worth about Rs 2 crore 39 lakh was actually made from him.

He told that Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is looked after by the CEO of the temple trust. The state government said that donation boxes cannot be allowed to be placed inside the corridor.

The government also informed that the idol of Shani Dev temple is located outside the corridor. Its form remains. Some Shivlingas were installed in the same temple, which are now installed inside the corridor. His worship is now done by the temple trust. In such a situation, placing donation boxes and worshiping inside the corridor cannot be allowed. Allahabad High Court rejected the petition after hearing both the sides.
