The notification, in response to the State Government's official announcement on January 21, 2024 (Notification No. GAD-A(F)10-9/2022), designates January 22, 2024 (Monday) as a public holiday for the Himachal Pradesh High Court and the District Judiciary in the state. This makes the Himachal Pradesh High Court potentially the first in the country to declare a holiday on January 22.

Notably, various tribunals, including the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), and the National Green Tribunal (NGT), had previously announced either a half-day or full-day holiday on January 22.
