The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on a plea by former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia seeking bail in a money laundering case.
The bench headed by Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma issued notice to the ED on the regular bail plea and interim bail application of the senior AAP leader.
The high court granted time to the ED to file a verification report within a week.
Earlier, Sisodia filed the regular bail plea as well as an interim bail application on grounds of illness of his wife.
The bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma directed CBI to make a status report on the matter by Thursday so that the plea can be heard along with Sisodia's regular bail plea, listed for the same day.
Earlier, on 31st March, the trial court rejected Sisodia's bail plea on March 31.
In a detailed order, special CBI judge MK Nagpal had held that prima facie, the former Excise Minister played the a vital role in the criminal conspiracy in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam.
