Delhi HC rejects PIL Seeking Court-Monitored Probe Into Alleged Fake Laboratory Tests at Mohalla Clinics

The Delhi High Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought a court-monitored inquiry into claims of fraudulent laboratory tests taking place within the Mohalla clinics situated in the capital city.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan Singh and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora refused to entertain the application, saying the case has already been referred to the central investigating agency and there is no need for the court to pass any order.

During the hearing, the Delhi government's standing counsel (civil) Santosh Kumar Tripathi and lawyer Arun Panwar said that the government has no objection to the court-monitored investigation.

The application has been filed by petitioner Bejon Kumar Mishra on a pending PIL seeking the closure of unauthorized pathological labs and diagnostic centers in Delhi. Advocate Shashank Dev Sudhi, appearing for Bejan Kumar Mishra, alleged that the mohalla clinic is being managed by unqualified technicians.
