Delhi HC rejects bail application of accused involved in assaulting Cop

The Delhi High Court has rejected the bail application of the accused who is involved in assaulting the Police Officer.

The bench headed by Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar, rejected the petitioner’s bail application, asserting that the petitioner audaciously assaulted a police officer and tore his uniform.

While rejecting the bail application, the bench noted that the petitioner’s actions were unacceptable, stating that the case did not warrant any leniency.

The petitioner has filed an application under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking anticipatory bail in connection with FIR registered at Police Station Nand Nagri. 

Case Brief -

In the said matter, on the day of the incident, the complainant, the Police Officer along with his colleagues, encountered two individuals riding a motorcycle on the wrong side of the road. The motorcycle had an incomplete number plate, with only “Chaudhary” written on it.

The complainant questioned the riders, resulting in a quarrel during which the petitioner and his associates allegedly assaulted the police officer, causing damage to his uniform. The accused individuals also made threats to hinder the complainant’s employment. Consequently, the FIR was registered against the petitioner and the co-accused persons.
