Coal Scam | Delhi Court sentence four-year sentence to former Parliamentarian Vijay Darda and his son Devendra Darda

Today, Delhi Court awarded four-year sentence to former Parliamentarian Vijay Darda and his son Devendra Darda in a case related to irregularities in the allocation of a coal block in Chhattisgarh.

In the said matter, former Rajya Sabha lawmaker Vijay Darda, his son Devender Darda, ex-Coal Secretary H C Gupta, two senior public servants K S Kropha and K C Samria, M/s JLD Yavatmal Energy Pvt Ltd and its Director Manoj Kumar Jayaswal was involved.

Special CBI judge Sanjay Bansal of the Rouse Avenue Courts further directed Coal Secretary HC Gupta and IAS officers KS Kropha and KC Samria to undergo three years of imprisonment.
 
M/s JLD Yavatmal was fined Rs 50 lakh. Besides, former coal secretary H.C. Gupta and two other officials K.S. Kropha and K.C. Samaria were senetnced to three-year jail impris.

Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told the court that JLD Yavatmal Energy Limited got Fatehpur East Coal Block in Chhattisgarh as part of the alleged criminal conspiracy by misrepresentation facts on the eligibility conditions.
