Central government notifies appointment of Justice RD Dhanuka as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

The Central government on Friday cleared the appointment of Justice RD Dhanuka as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Dhanuka is due to demit office on May 30 and will, therefore, have a tenure of only four days as the Chief Justice.

On 19th April, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph in their meeting held on April 19, 2023, recommennding the name of Justice RD Dhanuka.

Yesterday, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal tweeted about the appointment from his official Twitter handle said -

In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint the following High Court Judges as Chief Justices of High Courts”, the tweet said.
