Yesterday, the Union Ministry of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju notified the transfer of Justice Annireddy Abhishek Reddy from the Telangana High Court to the Patna High Court.

Last year, in November, Supreme Court Collegium recommended the transfer of Justice Reddy

Notably, on the next day, the Telangana High Court Advocates' Association (THCAA) resolved to abstain from work to protest against the proposal to transfer Justice Reddy.

Justice Reddy was born on November 7, 1967. He enrolled as an advocate in July 1990 and was elevated to the bench on August 26, 2019.

As on April 1, 2023, the Patna High Court is working with 33 judges against a sanctioned strength of 53, a vacancy position of 20.
