Today, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice S Venkatanarayana Bhatti took oath as judges of the Supreme Court today.
With their appointments, the Supreme Court's strength rose to 32 with two more vacancies remaining.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud administered the oath to the new judges, whose appointments were cleared by the Central Government on July 12 following the recommendations made by the Supreme Court collegium on July 5.
Justice Bhuyan was the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court and Justice Bhatti was the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.
