Ankita Murder Case: Statement of three more witnesses recorded

A local court in Uttarakhand's Kotdwar on Monday recorded statements of three more witnesses in connection with the famous Ankita Bhandari murder case. During this, a heavy police force was deployed on the court premises.

Defence lawyer Amit Sajwan gave information in this regard.

The defence counsel said that the statements of three witnesses – Aman, Sourav Bisht and Karan – were recorded in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Reena Negi in Kotdwar.

He told that Aman (32), a resident of Uttar Pradesh, said in his statement that he used to work as a store manager in an Ayurvedic company near Vanantra Resort.

 According to Sajwan, Aman told that the manager of this company is Swati Arya, who is the wife of Pulkit Arya, the main accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case. According to Sajwan, Aman told that he was aware of Ankita working in the resort and Ankita going out of the hotel with Arya, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit on the day of the incident.

Another witness Sourav Bisht said in his statement that on September 18, 2022, at around 5.15 pm, he had gone for a ride with his friend Karan on a motorcycle nearby and then suddenly Ankita, crying on the phone, asked him to drop her to the road. Bisht told that he informed another employee Shivam about the incident and he returned to the resort but the accused did not allow him to meet Ankita.

The third witness Karan (26) said in his statement that he does electrical work in Vanantra. He told that Ankita called Bisht's phone and asked him to drop him on the road while crying and said that something bad was going to happen to him. The next hearing of the case will be on June 9.
