Would Rajasthan get more representation this year in Supreme Court? Brief analysis

Since by the end of this year, 8 judges of the Supreme Court are getting retired including two from Rajasthan, the question again arise if Judges from Rajasthan High Court get more representation in Supreme Court. 

As per the media reports Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Sandeep Mehta and another senior most Judge of Rajasthan High Court Justice Vijay Bishnoi could be the next Judge of the Apex Court.

The Judges who will get retirement by December are Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Justice MR Shah, Justice KM Joseph, Justice Ajay Rastogi, Justice V. Ramasubrahmanyam, Justice Krishan Murari, Justice SK Kaul, and S. Ravindra Bhat.

Prior to the present two judges in the Supreme Court, Justice RM Lodha and Justice GS Singhvi had represented Rajasthan in the Supreme Court and the Rajasthan High Court was unrepresented before the Supreme Court for about 5 years after the retirement of Chief Justice R.M. Lodha.

Justice RM Lodha who comes from Rajasthan also became the Chief Justice of India in 2014 and at the time of retirement, Justice G.S. Singhvi was the senior most judge of the Supreme Court.
