During the hearing of the hate speech case, Justice KM Joseph of the Supreme Court lashed out at the Additional Solicitor General.  The court had fixed Wednesday as the date for hearing in the matter but the Solicitor General was saying that there should be a date other than wednesday, while fixing the date Justice Joseph said that. Then the ASG said not tomorrow. "not tomorrow", then what was Justice Joseph's anger.  He reprimanded the government lawyer and said that you cannot interfere in our matter, don't even try to give tomorrow means Supreme Court.  Justice Joseph said that in the past, government lawyers were saying that action in the case of hate speech is very important for the health of democracy.  ASG's reply that Hon'ble Judges should save the Supreme Court from turning into a Magistrate's Court, it has a dignity that needs to be restored.

Justice Joseph's question to the government lawyer was whether he did not think that there was a need to curb hate speech to maintain communal harmony.  Justice said that the Addl. Solicitor General should say that we will take steps to stop this, you will tell how many cases have been registered in the case of hate speech so far.  ASG replied that 18 happened.

When the SG got angry on newspaper news, the Justice said, you should also have a report. When the lawyer of the other side presented his opinion in the court regarding the news of the newspaper in the matter of hate speech, the SG got angry.  

He said that you cannot argue in the court on the basis of newspaper reports.  Justice Joseph cut off his point and said that you should have the report.  However, the ASG is demanding another date for the hearing of the case.  But Justice Joseph said that he would hear the contempt petitions.  

SG said – It is necessary to mention hate speech of all religions Justice Joseph asked how many rallies were held in this case. Counsel for the other side said that the newspaper reports say that 501 but they are presenting the draft in the case of 16 rallies  The Solicitor General said that the lawyer filing the petition should mention the hate speech of all religions.  It should be placed before the court.  They cannot be selective in this matter.
