Supreme Court pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his Death Anniversary

Today, the Supreme Court pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.

From 11 to 11:02 am, the Supreme Court observed a two-minute silence in solemn remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi. 

                     

All the judges and members of the bar stood up while working. The Supreme Court issued a circular, underscoring the enduring influence of Gandhian principles on the legal fraternity of our country.

The statue of Gandhiji is placed in front of the 1st Court of the country with its head bent before justice.

"As per practice followed every year, two minutes' silence will be observed at 11.00 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in the memory of those who laid down their lives in the struggle for India's freedom," a circular issued by the apex court on January 25 said.
