The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a petition from the mosque side in the Gyanvapi case. On behalf of the mosque side, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to hand over the Gyanvapi case to some other High Court instead of the Allahabad High Court. On Thursday, a Varanasi court granted an extension until November 17 to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the completion of a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi and the submission of its report.
The order to grant an extension to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) was issued by District Judge A K Vishvesh, and this decision was confirmed by the Central government counsel, Amit Srivastava, in response to ASI's request.
