Supreme Court likely to hear petition against Uttarakhand HC order this week regarding demolitions in Haldwani

The three-judge bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Abdul Nazeer, and Justice PS Narasimha will hear the batch of petitions challenging the Uttarakhand High Court order that was used to carry out demolitions in Haldwani. Advocate Prashant Bhushan brought the case before the bench.

"There is a case identical to the matter which has been listed tomorrow. This is the case where more than 5000 houses in Haldwani are being demolished. Please tag my matter with them."

The bench granted the request and tagged all of the cases together for hearing on January 5, 2023.
Following an order issued by the Uttarakhand High Court, thousands of families living in colonies near Haldwani railway station will be served with eviction notices and given seven days to vacate the area.
