Supreme Court asked Delhi Govt to consider the SC Registry to provide additional facilities to staff

The Supreme Court asked the Delhi Government to consider the request of the Supreme Court registry seeking additional facilities in the Supreme Court compound.

While hearing a Public Interest Litigation, the bench of Justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar requested the Health Secretary of, Delhi Government to seek additional facilities for Lawyers.

The Court had earlier asked the registry to submit a report on the existing facilities. The report reveals that presently the Delhi Government Health Centre is working in the Supreme Court compound including emergency services to Lawyers and litigants.

The report says that there are two doctors, one senior pharmacy officer, one pharmacist, one ANM, one nursing orderly are there. There are 10 rooms in the medical centre which include five doctor's rooms, one laboratory, one dressing room, one ANM room, one pharmacy room, one storeroom. 

The Court after viewing the report said that it is fully satisfied with the facilities being provided under the Delhi Government Health Centre Scheme.

The Court said, "No further order is required to be passed except directing the Health Secretary, Delhi Government to consider the communication dated 19.11.2022 and to take further steps as per the request, at the earliest."
