Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Tuesday took a dig at Law Minister Kiren Rijiju's remark that the government had not taken a single step to weaken the judiciary. Kapil Sibal's remarks came a day after Kiren Rijiju said there may be differences between the government and the judiciary but that does not mean the two are attacking each other and a 'Mahabharata' is going on.
Addressing a program at the Tis Hazari courts complex in New Delhi on Republic Day, Kiren Rijiju said that the Modi government has not taken a single step to weaken the judiciary. not picked up.

Speaking at an event at Delhi's Tis Hazari court on Monday, Kiren Rijiju said, "I have direct contact with Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. We discuss every small to complex issues. In a democracy, there can be differences of opinion between the government and the judiciary. But this does not mean that Mahabharata is going on in both. Debate is the beauty of democracy."
Kiren Rijiju said that "what is democracy without debate and discussion? He said, “These days judges are also a bit careful. They will not give such a decision which will cause strong reaction in the society. After all, a judge is also a human being and public opinion affects him too. Social media scrutiny also directly affects the judges."
