Senior Advocate Samaraditya Pal or Bachhu Pal of Calcutta High Court passed away on Thursday. He was husband of retired Supreme Court judge, Justice Ruma Pal. He was 84 years old.

He was one of the best-known barrister in the Calcutta High Court. He did his schooling from St Xavier’s School and passed graduation from Presidency College, Kolkata. He passed LL.B from Calcutta University. Pal acquired his Barrister degree from Inner Temple, London. He graduated in MA, LLB, He did his Barrister degree from Inner Temple, London, United Kingdom.

He has also authored many books including Law Relating to Public Service and India's Constitution-Origins and Evolution. He has also appeared in noteworthy cases like Singrur land acquisition for Tata Motors, Election Commission and the panchayat poll case.
