SCBA to honor advocates with 50 years standing on Constitution Day

As per the latest circular issued by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Advocates with 50 years standing at Bar would be honoured on Constitution Day.

SCBA Secretary Sh. Rohit Pandey told the TLA Network that 'Constitution Day' is an extremely prestigious occasion for the Legal Fraternity. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India and it came into effect from 26th January, 1950, which is the greatest strength of our Democracy. In 2015, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India declared to celebrate November 26 as the Constitution Day. Previously, the day was being celebrated as the Law Day.

He further said that the SCBA has proudly celebrated 'Constitution Day' for several decades. This year also we will be celebrating 'Constitution Day'. On every 'Constitution Day' we honour the members of the Bar who have completed 50 years of practice by 26th November. Therefore, those Hon'ble members who have completed 50 years practice and have not been honoured on earlier Constitution Day functions are requested to give their names and details latest by Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023.

He further also that on this occasion the Bar honours the members who have written books and have not been honoured on earlier Constitution Day functions. They are also requested to give their names, details and a copy of the book latest by Wednesday 22nd November, 2023 to Mr. Satish Jha at reception Counter, outside SCBA Library-1, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.
