The Supreme Court of India will reopen today after a 42-day summer vacation.  19th May 2023 was the last full-fledged working day of the Supreme Court.

During this period of 42 days, many things have been changed in the Apex Court like many judges have retired which resulted in the induction of new members in the Supreme Court Collegium. 

CJI Chandrachud has also got done a lot of infrastructural work in the Supreme Court during this period of 42 days.

The first week i.e. 03rd July to 07th July would be a Miscellaneous hearing week where the SC would take only Misc cases and no regular hearing or hearing matter would be taken up. This is considered to be the busiest week of the year.

After reopening the Apex Court will take up a batch of pleas related to the strife in Manipur and a petition by the sister of gangster Atiq Ahmad and Ashraf seeking the constitution of a commission to inquire into his death.
