The Supreme Court of India will start its first Arbitration and Consultation Room today within the Supreme Court premises. After court hours, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud will inaugurate the 'ACR' today at 4:30 pm.
The ACR is on the Ground Floor, MC Setalvad Chambers Block, Supreme Court Premises.
The Supreme Court would provide all the facilities related to Arbitration and mediation proceedings in these rooms such as a meeting facility, video conferencing facility etc.
Many High Courts are providing these facilities.
This is being done in the wake of the Chief Justice of India's vision of improving ADR in the country so that the workload over the courts is reduced.
