On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to give immediate attention to the petition filed by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. In his petition, he sought to dismiss the FIR filed by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) regarding the skill development scam case and contested his detention in connection with the same.
Chief Justice declined to entertain an out-of-turn mentioning of Naidu's petition and instead instructed his legal representative, Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra, to bring up the matter for consideration tomorrow.
Luthra highlighted the urgency of the matter, stating–

He is listed as the 37th accused in the FIR filed by the AP CID in 2021, which pertains to the multi-crore scam linked to the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation.tion is being curbed...he was arrested on September 8."
However, the CJI was not inclined to allow the mentioning today and asked Luthra to come tomorrow on the mentioning list.
On Saturday, Naidu submitted a special leave petition to the Supreme Court, contesting the verdict issued by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which rejected his request to invalidate the FIR. Subsequent to the dismissal of this petition, a court in Vijayawada approved the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) to detain Naidu for two days, permitting them to conduct an interrogation.
