Today, the Supreme Court ordered to defer the oath-taking ceremony of the appointment of Justice (retired) Umesh Kumar as the chairperson of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) till July 11.

Further, the Court issued notice to the Centre and Lieutenant Governor on a petition of the Delhi government challenging the June 22 notification of the appointment of the DERC chairman.
