The Supreme Court Collegium has officially recommended the transfer of Justice Yashwant Varma from the Delhi High Court to the Allahabad High Court amid an ongoing in-house inquiry into allegations of a cash stash discovered at his official premises.

Justice Yashwant Varma, who was originally part of the Allahabad High Court, was transferred to the Delhi High Court in 2021.

The official statement issued by the Collegium, comprising CJI Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant and Justice AS Oka, reads :

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meetings held on 20th and 24th March 2025 has recommended the repatriation of Mr. Justice Yashwant Varma, Judge, High Court of Delhi, to the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad.
