The newest National Law University NLU Meghalaya has appointed Professor Dr. Indrajit Dube as its first Vice Chancellor. Dr Dube is a professor at Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

The Government of Meghalaya issued a notice earlier this year inviting six shortlisted candidates for personal interview for the post of the university's Vice Chancellor.

Pursuant to the Cabinet approving the National Law University Ordinance 2022 for setting up NLU Meghalaya, it was decided that the university will function out of a temporary campus to begin with.

Dr. Dube is a remarkable academician. His areas of interest include Corporate Laws, Corporate Governance and Corporate Environmental Governance. He has been teaching these and allied courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels for more than fifteen years in different universities, national law schools and management schools.
