PM Imran Khan arrest unlawful , says Islamabad High Court

Today, Imran Khan appeared at the Islamabad High Court for a bail hearing on Friday, following his arrest earlier this week that led to deadly clashes across the country. The Islamabad High Court declares his arrest Unlawful.

The bench comprises Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz.

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been granted a two-week bail by Islamabad High Court on Friday in a graft case.

The dramatic arrest on Tuesday triggered clashes with police and paramilitary forces across the country, killing nearly a dozen people. The army was called in to restore order.

Police in the capital Islamabad have imposed an emergency order banning gathering of more than four people as Khan’s supporters are expected to march to the capital.

According to Dawn reports, the court issued a stay order on his indictment in the Toshakhana graft case, while Khan faces a total of 121 cases, including charges of treason, blasphemy, inciting violence, and terrorism. With tight security in place, the PTI chairman faced a special bench to hear his bail plea in the corruption case.
