On Thursday, a Delhi court ordered the remand of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and the head of its HR department, Amit Chakravarty, in judicial custody until December 1. This decision stems from a case filed under the anti-terror law UAPA, following allegations that the news portal had received funds with the intent to promote pro-China propaganda.

Special Judge Hardeep Kaur sent both the accused to jail after they were produced before the court on expiry of their custodial interrogation by Delhi Police granted on October 25.

The duo was arrested on October 3.
