Before the hearing on the bail application of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, a new problem has arisen for him. In fact, in the Excise Policy case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a petition in the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday seeking 10-day custody of Sisodia. After this, the court directed the investigating agency to produce the him at 2 pm today. Sisodia is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26 February after being questioned for several hours. Rouse Avenue Court's Special CBI Judge M.K. Nagpal had sent Sisodia to judicial custody for 14 days on 6th March. The judge sent him on CBI remand for seven days before sending him to judicial custody till 20th March. The judge had directed the CBI to file its reply on Sisodia's bail application by Friday.
Sisodia has claimed in his petition that he fully cooperated with the central agency during the investigation. Sisodia said that since all the seizures have already been made, there is no point in keeping them in custody and the other accused arrested in the case has already been granted bail. He has told that he has held an important constitutional post and has deep roots in the society.
