The Kochi Magistrate Court has acquitted Malayam actor Vijaykumar in a suicide attempt case while being interrogated at the office of the Police Assistant Commissioner in Kochi. The court acquitted the actor in 13 year old case on the ground of insufficiency of evidence.

The case was registered on 11th Feb, 2009. The actor attempted suicide when he was called to the Thrikkakkara Assistant Commissioner of Police office in a case of extorting Rs. 25 Lakhs. During the trial at Kakkanad Magistrate Court, the court could not produce sufficient evidence to connect the actor with the alleged commission of offence.
