Kerala HC urges smooth implementation of Sabarimala pilgrimage orders

The Kerala High Court has underscored the importance of carrying out its previous directives to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for devotees during the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku season at the Lord Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala.

In light of the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage seasons, the court made reference to its prior instructions, which included prohibiting the use of ornately adorned vehicles for transporting devotees.

A panel of Judges, including Justices Anil K Narendran and Sophy Thomas, deliberated on the matter.

In its earlier ruling, the court explicitly stated that no vehicle, including those operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), could display decorations that contravene safety regulations.

Nonetheless, the court had allowed KSRTC buses to feature advertisements.

In its recent ruling, the bench issued a directive stating that two ambulances, one of which should be an off-road ambulance, must be provided at Sannidhanam in Sabarimala.
