Judge who refused to suspend the conviction of Rahul Gandhi is included in the list of 'recommended transfers'.

Recently, Gujarat High Court judge Justice Hemant M Prachchhak, who refused to suspend the conviction of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case related to his 'Modi surname' comment, has been included in a group of 23 judges suggested for transfer of judge by the Supreme Court Collegium.

Further, Justice Samir Dave is set to be relocated to the Rajasthan High Court, while Justice Gita Gopi is slated for transfer to the Madras High Court. Additionally, Justice Alpesh Y Kogje, another judge from the Gujarat High Court, will be transferred to the Allahabad High Court.

Justices AS Sangwan, Avneesh Jhingan, RM Singh, and Arun Monga from the Punjab and Haryana High Court are scheduled for transfers to the Allahabad, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan High Courts respectively.

Furthermore, Justice VK Singh of the Allahabad High Court will be relocated to the Madras High Court.

In the matter of Rahul Gandhi remarks on Modi, the three judges bench comprising, Justice BR Gavai, Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Sanjay Kumar have orally remarked on the quality of the Judgement given by Justice Hemant M Prachchhak.

Further, it was also stated that although the judgment is of 106 pages, but it did not delt with the legal precedents relevant to the case.

The bench also talked about the manner in which the judge of the Gujarat High Court deal with the judgement when the SG Tushar Mehta defend the case in the High Court
