Jharkhand HC Division Bench Demands State Government Response in Child Trafficking Case

On Tuesday, the division bench of Justice SN Prasad and Justice Navneet Kumar at the Jharkhand High Court heard the petition of Kuldev Sah, who stands accused of child trafficking in Sahibganj. Following the hearing, the court has requested a response from the state government regarding this matter.

The court has inquired about the measures taken by the government to locate the two missing children. The next hearing for the case has been scheduled for February 19.

During the hearing, the investigating officer of the case appeared in court and told the court that the search for the two missing children is going on. On this the court orally said that the search should continue and that the two missing children would also be found. Apart from this, efforts should be continued to recover other children who are victims of trafficking.

The investigating officer said that the research team that went to Delhi on the directions of Sahibganj SP has recovered 20 girls from different areas of Delhi. Of these, 16 girls are minors, while four girls are adults.

The complainant, M. Hembram had filed an FIR against Kuldev Sah and Veeren Sah in Sahibganj Court in the year 2022 for trafficking of his son. Their child has been missing since 2018. These people have filed a petition with the High Court.
