Yesterday, Jharkhand High Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a detailed report on the criminal cases pending against MP and MLAs of the state.
A division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Mishra and Justice Ananda Sen was hearing all the public interest litigations (PILs) filed on criminal cases against representatives of the state. The court has also clubbed all the PILs for speedy disposal.
Earlier, during the last hearing, the Court had issued notices to the state government and ED to submit a report on pending cases against MP and MLAs.
The affidavit filed by the MLAs during the nominations reveals that 41 out of 81 MLAs elected to the Jharkhand Assembly have criminal cases pending against them.

Six special MP/MLA courts are hearing criminal cases pending against public representatives after the direction of the Supreme Court.
