Gyanvapi Case: Court gives additional time to ASI till November 17

On Thursday, a Varanasi court granted an extension until November 17 to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the completion of a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi and the submission of its report.

The order to grant an extension to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) was issued by District Judge A K Vishvesh, and this decision was confirmed by the Central government counsel, Amit Srivastava, in response to ASI's request.

During the court proceedings, it was conveyed that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had finished the survey itself, but they required more time to compile the report, which would include information about the equipment used in the survey. In response to this, the court granted an extension of time, as requested by the ASI.

It's worth noting that on October 5, the court had initially allowed an additional four weeks for the ASI to complete its survey work and had emphasized that no further extensions would be granted beyond that period.
