Former Bombay HC judge Justice CV Bhadang has been designated as President of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal

Recently, Former Bombay High Court judge Justice CV Bhadang has been appointed as President of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).

The proposal for the appointment of Justice Bhadang was granted approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on October 18. Justice Bhadang, born on November 5, 1960, in Khamgaon, District Buldhana, embarked on his legal journey by obtaining an LL.B. degree from Nagpur University and becoming an advocate on December 5, 1984.

He primarily practiced civil and criminal law in the district court and the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court before transitioning to the Maharashtra Judicial Service.

On October 3, 2000, he commenced his career in the judicial service as a directly recruited district judge. Over the course of his distinguished career, he served in various roles, including as an Additional District and Sessions Judge in Nagpur, a Member of the Industrial Tribunal in Bandra, and the Principal District and Sessions Judge in Nashik.

Furthermore, Justice Bhadang held several key positions in the Registry of the Bombay High Court, including roles such as Registrar (Vigilance), Registrar (Judicial), Registrar (Personnel), and Registrar (Inspection). His journey culminated in his appointment as the Registrar General on May 13, 2013.

On March 3, 2014, he reached a significant milestone by being elevated to the position of a judge in the Bombay High Court and concluded his remarkable career upon his retirement on November 4, 2022.
